A History of Success
The Perl Hunter has been in existence for over 4 years now. We have had
great success in the recruitment field and are known worldwide as the
premier agency specializing in Perl developers. Here are some of the
statistics showing our success:
-
More than 25 total successful placements
-
Pay rates starting $40/hour
-
Annual salaries as much as $150k
-
On site and telecommute situations
-
Terms as short as two week projects to placements lasting over 3 years
-
Fixed projects, contractors, salaried positions
-
From small shops (< 3 coders) to large companies (Over $20 Billion in revenue)
Placement Success Ratio
The Perl Hunter only submits candidates that are quality matches to the
actual needs of the client. We don't do automated or buzzword matching
-- just old fashioned knowledge of both sides' needs. This keeps our
placement rate extremely high, somewhere about 50%. Yes, we place about
half of ALL the submissions we send to a client. For some clients this
is actually 100% and includes multiple job openings. One client has had
over 10 placements from The Perl Hunter and there were only three
unsuitable candidates.
Repeat Clients
One major indication of the success of The Perl Hunter is how often our
clients come back for more help with placements. We develop quality
relationships with our clients and they know we can deliver the best
Perl developers to them and which is why they get hired.
-
One client has had over 10 placements from us
-
Several other clients have had from 2-4 placements
-
Because of our proven track record, we often get asked to find candidates before any other agency or placement resource is consulted
Placement Speed
When you are in a hurry to add to your Perl staff, The Perl Hunter is
the place to go. Recently a client emailed us on a Sunday evening for a
new job lead. We exchanged some emails to clarify their needs and by
Monday we submitted a single well matched candidate to them. On Tuesday,
they sent the candidate their (high quality) Perl quiz which he quickly
returned. They then scheduled 4 phone screens on Wednesday with the
candidate. Their offer came in on Thursday and we negotiated a pay rate
that was acceptable to both parties. On Friday, the offer was accepted
and a start date was set. This was also an on-site temp-to-perm
situation and the candidate then prepared to move to the location.
Candidate Comments
Here are some comments from Perl developers who were placed by The Perl
Hunter. And I was asked by a new client who read these, if I wrote
these and the answer is no. I will send you the full emails and contact
info for any of the commenters upon request.

When I started working with Uri, I was in a position that was a poor match for me. He found me several interesting leads, all of them a good match for my skills and experience. One of them was a perfect match culturally, too -- I had a great feeling after the phone interview, which only got better after the in-person interview -- and I've spent two happy years at that company so far.

Tired of being treated like a meat cork? My experience with Perl Hunter is by far the best I've had with any recruiter: jobs that are well-matched to my qualifications, the opportunity to expand my abilities, and no clue-free interview. Perl Hunter is professional yet laid-back, telecommuting friendly, and it all runs under the watchful eye of Perl master-spelunker Uri Guttman, who vets the positions just as stringently as he vets his recruits. Highly recommended.

What a refreshing change from recruiting-as-usual, typically dominated by resume buzzwords. Uri is a consummate Perl hacker, and is well-respected in the Perl community - so his recommendations carry some weight. His knowledge means he can match your skillset to the right position - on the very first try for me, and I'm happily still there over a year later. Hands-down the best job hunting experience I've had.
