Cocoa Puddings

Uncooked: This recipe is so easy and so good that you won't believe it is made with tofu! Yes, tofu blended with Best Friends Cocoa makes an amazing (and healthy!) pudding.

Put the tofu and water in a food processor or blender. Blend for one minute, stop and scrape down the sides and blend for another minute. Add the cocoa mix and blend for another minute. Stop and scrape again, and do a final blending for another minute or until it is smooth and creamy. Pour and scrape into 4 single serving dishes or into a larger bowl and chill. It serves up to 4 pudding heads!

  • 1 box of firm or extra firm silken tofu (in the aseptic box)
  • 2 Tbsp water
  • 4 oz (about 1/2 cup) of any flavor of Best Friends Cocoa

Cooked: This recipe is based on the old fashioned slow cooked puddings your grandmother made. It is well worth the effort to make!

Heat the water to a simmer in either a heavy bottomed pot or the top of a double boiler. Reduce the heat to very low. Then add the cocoa mix and the corn starch and stir until combined. Keep at a slow simmer for about 10 minutes or until the raw starch flavor is cooked out. Stir often. When done, pour into 4 single serving dishes or into a larger bowl and chill. Makes 4 old fashioned puddings!

  • 2 cups water
  • 3 Tbsp corn starch
  • 4 oz (about 1/2 cup) of any flavor of Best Friends Cocoa

Tapioca pudding: Everyone loves tapioca pudding! Try making it with Best Friends Cocoa - the rich chocolate flavor won't disappoint.

Thoroughly mix water, cocoa and tapioca in a saucepan and let sit for 5 minutes. Cook on medium heat, stirring constantly until the mixture comes to a full boil (a boil that doesn't stop bubbling when stirred). Remove from heat. Pour into 4 single serving dishes or into a larger bowl and chill. Makes 4 chocolate tapioca puddings!

  • 2 cups water
  • 3 Tbsp tapioca
  • 4 oz (about 1/2 cup) of any flavor of Best Friends Cocoa
