In 1988, Naomi Storm started to make her own cocoa mix, since she couldn't find one that was non-fat, (she was concerned about cholesterol), kosher and was great tasting. What she created soon became a hit among her friends and family, and so she launched Best Friends Cocoa.

A few years later, Linda Guttman, a massage therapist, was at a women's networking event, and she decided to see what was being offered at some of the other booths. She found Best Friends Cocoa and immediately fell in love with the product. When she found out that it was almost fat free, she could hardly believe it.

Linda's first attraction to the cocoa was its rich flavor, and its health benefits. Who can deny the wonderful feeling you get from of a hot cup of cocoa, shared with a friend? Linda decided it would be the perfect beverage to offer in the waiting room of her massage practice. Over the years, her clients loved the cocoa as well. In 2003 Linda called Naomi to place her order and discovered that Naomi had retired from her business. So in 2004, Linda decided she loved the cocoa so much (and the name, Best Friends Cocoa, appealed to her) that she bought the company.

We are very proud of our company and its growing reputation. Best Friends Cocoa is now carried in over 150 stores and restaurants across the country, including Whole Foods Markets throughout Massachusetts and Rhode Island. We're a hit at tradeshows and craft fairs all over New England and New York. This year, we are launching our new web store, and are looking forward to seeing continued growth in the future.
